If your job requires you to wear scrubs, then you are going to need to make sure that you spend the time and energy in finding the best scrubs possible. You are going to be spending eight or more hours a day in these scrubs and you want to ensure that you are totally comfortable. Here are some questions that you should ask yourself in order to make sure that you purchase the best scrubs possible for your situation.

1. How Hot Do You Get During the Day?

If you find that you sweat a lot during the day or that the heat in the building that you work in is turned up very high in order to accommodate elderly patients' reduced ability to handle the cold, then you are going to want to make sure that you choose scrubs that are made out of natural fibers, rather than synthetic ones. Look for scrubs that are 100% cotton because they will let air through more easily, increasing your ventilation and decreasing the chance that you will overheat.

Scrubs that are made out of natural fibers tend to be more expensive than scrubs that are made out of synthetic fibers. If you are not worried about overheating, feel free to purchase the cheaper, synthetic scrubs.

2. How Large is Your Chest?

If you wear a larger bra size, then you might want to consider purchasing scrubs that do not have a deep v-neck as a neckline because this might force you to wear a t-shirt underneath your scrubs in order to feel totally comfortable leaning over someone. You don't want to have to worry about accidentally showing more skin than you intended. This is especially important if you are buying online and are not able to try the scrubs on. Buying a square neckline or a mock-wrap neckline will allow you to avoid this problem without trying on the scrubs. Larger men might also want to try a different neckline.

3. What Do You Need to Carry?

If you find that you only carry a stethoscope and a pen all day, then you're only going to need scrubs that have a single pocket on the chest. If you find that you have to carry so many things that you can barely keep track of them, then you are going to need scrubs that have more pockets. Consider purchasing cargo scrubs in order to make sure that you have enough storage space on your body.
